FAQ
About Our Pearls
Are your pearls natural?
Yes. We exclusively use 100% Genuine Freshwater Pearls. We work directly with vetted suppliers to source high-quality organic pearls, bypassing middleman markups to deliver premium value directly to you.
What makes Pearltide pearls different from standard pearls?
We prioritize Superior Quality. While standard pearls are harvested quickly, many of our pearls are harvested after 3+ years of growth. This extended time creates a thicker nacre and a deeper, more iridescent luster compared to standard pearls.
Will my pearl look exactly like the one in the photo?
Each organic baroque pearl is Uniquely Yours. Because they are naturally formed, no two pearls are identical in shape or surface. This organic individuality is what makes your jewelry truly one-of-a-kind.
Materials & Craftsmanship
What materials do you use for your jewelry settings?
To complement our premium pearls, we use high-quality, skin-friendly materials. We primarily use 925 Sterling Silver with Gold Plating or 14K Gold Filled to ensure durability and a luxurious finish for daily wear.
Is your jewelry hypoallergenic and tarnish-resistant?
We use Gold Vermeil—a high-quality standard in jewelry. Unlike common fashion jewelry that uses brass, our pieces are crafted with a .925 Sterling Silver base plated with a thick layer of 18K Gold. This ensures they are hypoallergenic and more durable. For components that face frequent friction, like our chains, we use 14K Gold Filled materials for maximum longevity.
Why do you use different metals for the same piece of jewelry?
We use a hybrid material strategy to balance intricate design with daily durability.
Charms & Pendants: For our highly detailed baroque coins and intricate reliefs, we use 18K Gold Vermeil over .925 Sterling Silver. Only a silver base can capture such fine 3D details while ensuring the piece remains a precious metal—hypoallergenic and valuable.
Chains: Since chains experience the most friction against the skin, we use 14K Gold Filled. The gold layer is significantly thicker than standard plating, ensuring your chain remains radiant and tarnish-free for years to come.
